The S R College Library contains about 17000 books under different sections and subsections. The members of the staff, the students of the College may use the Library. The Rules are notified for guidance for all. Rule: > Normally the college Library remains open from 10:30 AM to 5pm pn all working days of the college. Students are required to submit their requisition slip in the library counter from 10:30 M to 12 Noon. > No Book shall be taken out of the Library without the knowledge of the Librarian. > Every borrower should examine the condition of the book before it is issued to him/her. Otherwise in case of mutilation discovered later, the presumption will be against the borrower. > Members of the staff are allowed to borrow text books and reference books concerning their own department. If they want to borrow text and reference books concerning department other than own they are requested to take permission from the Principal and in that case they are allowed to borrow only two books at a time a period of 15 days only. > Book should be returned within the period of 14 days except in the case of members of the teaching staff and those specially permitted by the Principal. In case of members of the teaching staff, the time allowed is ordinarily one month and in all other case 15 days. The books can be re-issued after the due date provided the books are brought to the Library. When the last date for the return of a book falls due on an authorized holiday. It may be returned to the library on the next working day of the college. Books must be returned in the Library counter only. The Library will not be responsible for any, book returned to anybody except the Librarian or Assistant Librarian. All the students must return all their library books well ahead of their final from fill up and Puja vacation (Orissa Edn. Code.) > All books borrowed from the library should be returned before the Summer Vacation as per the O.E. code. > Any book whose return is required by the Librarian for some special reason should be returned forthwith. > A fine of 0.25 per book will be charged from each borrower each day of delay in returning a book. > The Librarian shall report to professor-in-charges of the library the names of persons responsible for the improper use of library, books, such as making of marginal or other notes, tearing or removal of pages or pictures and dirtying or disfiguring the book in any way. The professor-in-charge will report the case to the Principal for proper action. > Books of reference, maps, current issues of periodicals courses of studies and rare books will not be issued for use at home without the special permission of the principal. > A book once, issued to a borrower will be re-issued to him only if nobody else wants. Even if a borrower wants a book to be re-issued to him he must first hand it over 'to the Librarian for necessary entries.' > It is very serious offence for one borrower to sign for another and borrow books in another's name. The Librarian can go only by the library card along with the identity card which is not transferable. Students are therefore required to take the greatest care of their Library cards and to report to the Librarian immediately if their cards are lost. A new card will be issued in place of the lost one on payment of Rs.5/- > Any book lost, damaged or defaced by a borrower must be replaced by him. If the book is one of a set or series and the volume cannot be obtained singly, the whole set or series must be replaced by the borrower. If the book be not available the borrower may have to pay an amount upto a maximum of triple the catalogue price of the book. In case where the price cannot be ascertained the borrower should pay the amount fixed by the Principal. The principal may impose a fine on a student for improper use of the book.
